Caroline Kryzecki

My studio is my natural habitat.

What I do in one sentence: I draw lines with ballpoint pens.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: Because my right eye is too bad to be a sniper.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: Huge site specific works in great places.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): Channa Horwitz, Steve Reich, Blinky Palermo, Nasreen Mohamedi, Anni Albers and Sol LeWitt, he has accompanied me for years. More recently Tara Ayough, a very young artist from Teheran, we met in the Iranian desert and currently she is on a residency here in Berlin.

I am afraid of not being able to make art anymore.

How I want to be burried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: There will be no tombstone. Listening to Lou Reed’s Perfect Day would be nice though …
