Stefan Leyh

My studio is my place to do dirty work, collecting stuff.

What I do in one sentence: Drawing, modeling figures, carving styrofoam and wood, building molds.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: I often work in jobs of this kind to finance my art. Interestingly, teaching art is considered more “proper” than making art.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: A huge area full of different jars or vessels that are filled to the same height with water. A lake in parts.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): A lot of friends and acquaintances in whose development I am interested in.

I am afraid of losing the right hand as my most important tool.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: I like life sized Portrait Busts on a grave. No-nonsense, without angel wings!
