Sinta Werner

My studio is my second home, my safe haven, my think tank where I collect ideas and organize myself.

What I do in one sentence: By building interventions in the exhibition room and by cutting and folding photographs of architecture I manipulate the pictorial space and create in-between-spaces between image and reality.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: I’m on the way to make it a proper job.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant would be an utopian artwork that is at the same time architecture made from glass, steel and concrete with huge dimensions.

Why I do what I do: The question is probably as difficult to answer as the question of why you love someone. A direct justification would in some way destroy the fascination and unreasonableness.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): Ian Kiaer, A Kassen, Ariel Schlesinger because of the playfulness and poetic and sensual qualities in their works.

I am afraid of poverty in old age.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: with the sculpture Die Leichtigstein des Steins of Markus Wüste as tombstone which shows a fluid mass in antigravity.
