Jenny Brosinski

My studio is my space-time capsule.

What I do in one sentence: I research, I ask, I fail – I paint.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: I wanted to become an American Indian, that did not work because of my blond hair and my freckles – and then the thing with the horse. And so I stayed with what I used to do anytime.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: If I really want something, then I do it – no matter what speaks against it.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): to demand my all time favorites Cy Twombly, Basquiat, Majerus, Helen Frankenthaler, Kline, Rauschenberg, Kippenberger… and then Albert Oehlen, Rose Wylie, Sterling Ruby, Dan Colen – because they all did really free fine art – I admire that very much.

I am afraid of a lot of things.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: Hm, I think more about the right music and waver between the title sequence of Catch me if you can, or the Tetris melody.
