Bram Braam

My studio is my metal workplace, a carpenter’s workshop, a spray cabin, a concrete foundry, an exhibition space, a storage space and a nuclear testing zone from time to time.

What I do in one sentence: Connecting daily life in sculpture.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: No other talents.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: I made all the works I wanted to make.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): Siobhan Hapaska I lately discovered in art Basel, I love her work and clean esthetics. I have some similarities in playing with contrasts. Oscar Tuazon is since long a favourite artist, I like his beautiful poetic lectures and amazing architectural works. Sarah Brahman I like a lot for making real sculptures (thank god they are still there), Charles Harlan as a radical minimalist.

I am afraid of extremely high rents for studios in Berlin.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: LIFE IS ART
