Alex Lebus

My studio is my cell.

What I do in one sentence: I like to combine different media and techniques with mirrors – it is exciting to make the unsatisfying truth visible, to show that there is no way to really see anything or anyone.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: because I need to give birth to things that nobody asked for.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: a glasshouse made of stones.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): in a way, all of them – to see how they deal with this bizarre art world.

I am afraid of the fact that everything has two sides.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: Everything that kills me makes me feel alive.
