My studio is the only place where I can be who I am.

What I do in one sentence: I call it besign, which actually only means that each individual can shape his or her own future.

Why I didn’t get a proper job: Sorry, but I have the most proper job in the world.

An artwork I dream of and I would get accomplished if space, time and money were abundant: Things I don’t find that interesting. But I would like to drink some Pastis with Van Gogh. In a harbor bar in the south of France until dawn, and then there’s that unique moment that feels like the sea can’t be separated from the horizon.

Why I do what I do: A new perspective, a new question, a new idea interests me more than all insights & experiences. But an idea is not yet a concept & a concept is not yet an innovation. And only if you go the long way, the really New is born.

Artists, I have on my watch list (and why): Christian Marclay, a Swiss-born artist I recently discovered in New York, whose work effortlessly transcends all the boundaries that unfortunately still apply in Europe.

I am afraid of fear.

I know that a piece is finished when the result is better than the task.

How I want to be buried resp. words I want to be written on my tombstone: Life is complicated — but it goes by.-)
